Hi everyone, There has been a fair amount of interest in doing the book club once per month. So even though we are still reading Water for Elephants, please vote for the next month and join the discussion about the current book. Let me know your thoughts on doing this once a month too. Cheers Heather |

I haven't yet participated in this book group. But I do have a suggestion. You could select for 2 or 3 months so that people would know what's coming up. Then, as each month passes, vote on the book for 2 or 3 months later. For example vote now on books for March and April. Then in March vote on the book for May. Readers would have a little more lead time for getting and reading the book. maryruth |

Hi, About a month ago when I joined the club I suggested the book "Vince & Joy" by Lisa Jewell. I was wondering if you could give me an estimate on when that will be up for a vote? |

Hi Sandiedax, I'll put it up for vote next time around. Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers Heather |

| I agree. I love I Capture the Castle. I have fond memories of my grandma showing me pictures and telling me of when she acted the part of Cassandra. It's a great piece of literature. I didn't know she wrote 101 Dalmatians though. |

Hi everyone, I posted this in the "picking books" discussion as well. Would people prefer this book vote to be April's book to read and then March's vote to be for May? I definitely want the schedule to be best for all of you guys. Thanks! |

| What a role for her. Was it an amateur performance or was she an actress? |

Yes she was an professional Shakespearean actress in England. She has so many great stories and brings such a wealth of knowledge. She also played Jane Eyre, which toured England, as well as many other classic roles. Her stories of the theatre are so riveting and entertaining (especially about Laurence Olivier) that I always like getting together with her. I must say she was a great speaking coach when I was a kid. :) |

| Maybe you should video her reminiscing. I have a 90-year-old uncle who was an actor and he's wonderful company too. |

| Good idea. I have some old cassettes of her talking, but a video would last much longer. |

Not to be a hassle, but the frontpage says the poll is open until 8th february, and it is now the 14th. When can we expect the result. By the way, for some reason I never get any of the e-mails sent even though I signed up for the mailinglist. I checked out spam filter and the problem is not there. |

Hi Sandiedax, Yes the poll is still open. An email is being sent out soon (I think tomorrow) that will explain some of the changes that will be happening within the book club process and because of this I've kept the poll open until we've sent out the email and perhaps a few more people will vote. I'm not sure why you aren't receiving emails. Perhaps try signing up again and let me know if that doesn't work. Cheers Heather |

Okay ;-) Actually I already tried to sign up to the list twice and it's just not working. I will give it a go again, but I don't think it will do much good. |

| Hi sandiedax, you can send me your email address and I'll add it to the list for it. It is bookclub{at}abebooks.com (written in this format so I don't get spam.) :) |

| Hi everyone. Thanks for all your feedback! The vote will remain open for another couple of days, but one book has already taken a significant lead. Have a great day! |

I was helping clear out my parents' books today, and there was a copy of... "I Capture the Castle"! I'd already voted for it anyway, but thought I'd be joining the discussion with only memory to inspire me. Now I'm properly equiped!
